Jon Halldor Gardarsson was born in Iceland and spent his childhood in Hafnarfjordur, near the capital, Reykjavik.
From a young age, he demonstrated excellent skills in various sports, including golf, football, handball, and basketball. He has been a member of several Icelandic national teams, participating in national and international tournaments.
At the age of 20, he was selected as a professional football player to Germany and at the same time was studying at the German Sport University (Deutsche Sporthochschule) in Cologne. He holds qualifications in physical education and sports psychology.
After completing his sports studies in 1990, he completed his training as a golf instructor at the Paderborner Land Golf Club and, since then, has worked as a golf teacher at various clubs in Germany and Iceland, including Paderborner Land Club, Königsfeld Golf Club, Lippstadt Golf Club, and Keilir (Iceland).
A member of the PGA of Iceland, Germany, and Europe (DOSB/DGV, C-Trainer, and B-Trainer), he founded his own golf school, “Golf Schule Gardarsson,” in Germany, where he achieved numerous successes with various teams and individual players. During his 30 years as a golf teacher, Jon Halldor has amassed extensive experience supporting and training golfers of all ages and skill levels, including professional golfers.
Now, after a short break from his professional career, Jon Gardarsson is back to coaching at some of Spain’s finest golf courses, in the sunniest part of the Mediterranean coast – the provinces of Murcia and Alicante.
He lives in Santiago de la Ribera (Murcia).
