Where the lessons take place
La Finca Golf — Algorfa
La Finca Golf Resort is an 18-hole course paired with a five-star hotel, set in the natural surroundings of the Costa Blanca at Algorfa, in the south of Alicante province.
It has a genuine competitive record: the resort has hosted the Pro Golf Tour (formerly the EPD Tour), the Spanish Junior Championship and the European Junior Championship, among others. The course has also been named one of the fifteen best golf courses in Spain.
For a player working on their game, that matters for a practical reason: a course built to hold tournaments asks proper questions of your long game, your short game and your decision-making, so the lesson has something to work with.

The teaching area
Lessons run from Cartagena up to Alicante, covering both the Costa Blanca and the Costa Cálida. If you are staying further south, the courses around the Mar Menor and Roldán may be more convenient — see golf lessons in Murcia and golf lessons at the Mar Menor.
Climate and season
This stretch of coast gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Winter temperatures stay between 10 and 18 °C, rarely dropping below 5 °C, and rise to 20–22 °C during the day. The best golfing season runs from autumn through to spring — precisely the months when courses in northern Europe are closed or unplayable.

Who teaches
Jon Halldor Gardarsson, PGA golf professional, originally from Iceland. He played professional football in Cologne, Germany, studied at the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln and is qualified as a physical education teacher and in sports psychology. More on the about us page.
